Tiina Lehtimäki

“ReAct! makes me, as well as anyone that witnesses one of our performances, travel in time. When working I meet both the social and architectural spaces with the eyes, curiosity and playfulness of a child. Each performance is a physical team play where the hidden skeletons of one specific public space in our normative society are revealed and become an adventure.
In ReAct! I also get to face my own skeletons as a performer and turn them into strengths.”

Tiina Lehtimäki is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in dance, theatre and painting. Born and grown up in Finnish country side she started dancing at Tanssi ja Liikuntakeskus Hämeenlinna. Later on the dance dream took shape as a professional education at the Balettakademien in Stockholm. As an additional training to her education Tiina participated a residential physical theatre workshop in India lead by John Britton and a month long EX-IN workshop in Germany taught by dancer and choreographer David Zambrano.

Currently she is working with the performance company ReAct! – Actions moving, choreographer Anisa Hasson Abas and performer Marina Abramovic.
